Spring blog

Happy Spring! It seems the warm weather arrived early this year, a welcome change after last winter. But enough weather-related small talk. Let’s talk about some music, shall we? I’ve been gigging quite often lately, with The Brute Squad, the Jess & Zeb duo, and even the occasional Zeb Cruikshank Band fusion gig mixed in. It’s always good when a working musician stays busy! Plenty of shows on the calendar for spring months, and I’m starting to book summer dates as well, so keep an eye out for that. I’ve also been maintaining a 5-days-a-week teaching schedule (total of about 35-40 students every week), and I’m always encouraging them to practice, but it’s sometimes hard for me to “lead by example” with all of the gigs, rehearsals, and...

Hey Everyone and Anyone, I’m going to try and stay consistent with posting a new blog at least once a month so you all can stay current on what I’ve been up to. Hopefully I’ll be able to stick to this regimen, and keep things interesting enough to keep you coming back and checking often! First, the same designer who put this website together has just completed a new Jess & Zeb site. Check it out – www.jessandzeb.com I’ve been learning a lot of new tunes lately, both with The Brute Squad and the Jess & Zeb duo, which is great, because I have a pretty severe case of “musical ADD” (both as a listener and a performer), so it’s nice to have some new stuff to play. If you haven’t seen The Brute Squad and/or Jess & Zeb...

I just got back to MN after my second holiday trip back to my home state of NH. I was there for an action-packed 10 days. In addition to all of the holiday-related activities, I played two shows (one solo acoustic, and another with longtime friend and drummer PJ Donahue – a couple clips are on the Video page), and did two recording sessions at Robert Zechel’s home studio for his epic 18-minute “Spanish Armada” (more details on that when they become available). Overall, 2011 was a great year for me musically – I recorded my first all-original fusion album (which you can hear and purchase here on my website in the Music and Store pages), had great CD release parties in MN and NH, formed The Brute Squad (AKA “The Artists Formerly Known As The Blues...

Welcome!

Hi Everyone, Welcome to my new website! I had a marketing agency that was running my site for a little over a year, but I recently decided to terminate my relationship with them and go back to handling promotion on my own. I’d like to thank Keith Daggett, a web designer I found on craigslist, for putting this site together quickly on short notice, and setting it up in a way that will make it easy for me to update and maintain myself. I’ve already added some videos, mp3s, pictures, and upcoming show dates, and I plan to do plenty more, so be sure to check back soon and often for all the latest! As you may have heard, I recently released my first fusion album, titled “Long Time Coming”. I was fortunate enough to hold two CD release parties for the album...
